The Story
When a young Mathayus (Michael Copon) witnesses his fahter's death at the hands of the king (UFC Champion Randy Couture) his quest for vengeance transforms him into the most feared warrior on the ancient world (lihat Moviepedia, red). From the director of Resident Evil: Extinction and Highlander comes a heroic adventure filled heart-stopping action and thrilling visual effects.




Sargon: Evil King of Akkad who is wll versed in the dark arts. As the ruthless General of the Black Scorpions army, Sargon assassinated King Hammuradi and declared himself king. Sargon is known for making sacrifices to the dark gods who in turn have given him back magical powers. Sargon's greed for dominance is insatiable and he is intent on becoming a god at all costs.


Mathayus: As a boy of 13, Mathayus witnesses his renowed warrior father murdered by jealous rival, Sargon. Vowing to avenge his father, Mathayus trains hard in the Black Scorpions Academy, growing into a strapping young man and skilled fighter. At age 20, Mathayus graduates and learns Sargon has not only become ruler of Akkad, but has acquired black magical powers that stymie Mathayus's attempt to assasinate him. Convinced that his only hope of defeating Sargon is by retrieving a charmed sword from the Underworld, Mathayus embarks on a perilous suernatural odyssey.

Layla: A childhood friend of Mathayus' and a tomboyish wannabe-warrior. As a young girl, Layla is forbidden entry into Black Scorpions Academy because she is female. An independent and feisty spirit, Layla is not content being told what to do, however, and she spends the years training on her own in secrecy. Longing for a life full of adventure Layla leaves her fat suitor at the altar and joins Mathayus on his quest.



Astarte: Goddess of Love and War and the Queen of the Underworld. Astarte is renowed for seducing men with promises of power but requires the ultimate sacrifice-their soul. she endows Sargon with her powerful dark magic which appears to make his reign of terror unstoppable. During a confrontation with Mathayus, Astarte tells him, "Scratch any hero and you will find a monster lurking inside", hence planting a seed of doubt that could lead to his undoing.



Ari: A young aspiring Greek playwright. Ari befriends Mathayus at the beginning of his quest, telling him of the legendary Sword of Damocles, which is said to possess great powers and can only be found in the Underworld. Knowledgeable in myths, ancient worlds, goddesses and ghouls, Ari agrees to guide them to the entrance and through the labyrinth of the Underworld. Mischievous, manipulative, witty and smart, Ari is not all that he appears to be.
